The shortage of SiC power MOSFETs will continue through mid-2024 based on Commodity IQ analytics and analysis. Asia-Pacific sourcing activities for power MOSFETS are projected to increase to twice the Commodity IQ Demand Index in July, nearly a 20% jump from April.

Amplifier circuit pricing was up 57% year-on-year in May and remains over one and half times the Commodity IQ Price Index baseline thus far this year. Pricing is trending up for certain operational amplifiers, with some distributors increasing prices by 15% or more.

Power circuit demand was down year-on-year in April and in Q1 by 25% and 15%, respectively. Leading suppliers like Texas Instruments are quoting a reduced 8-to-10-week lead time for more than 75% of its power IC portfolio, a marked decrease from prior quotes.
